Welcome to the Caribbean!

Last week Clayton and I went on our first cruise with Matt and Celeste. It was such a fun way to spend our 2 year anniversary! We left from Florida and stopped in Grand Cayman, Honduras, Belize, and Key West. I was so nervous that I was going to be so motion sick but I really enjoyed being on the cruise ship. We were all so impressed at how huge the ship was. It is so crazy! While on the ship we played bingo, card games, went to shows, ate, slept, got sunburned, ate some more, and even danced! I can't wait to go on another one!

Our first stop was Grand Cayman which was so amazing! It was such a clean beautiful island. We went to Stingray City and swam with the stingrays. We showed up and were the only boat of tourists at the sandbar so we had tons of action with the stingrays. They would seriously swim all over you hoping you would feed them. We had tons of fun with the stingrays and would love to do it again if I ever get the chance. Most of our pictures were taken with Matt & Celeste's water camera so I don't have the pictures yet. I will definitely post them when we get copies of them.

Grand Cayman had some beautiful homes on the way to Stingray City. Here is just one of them.

I loved that every time we left our room we would come back to our towels shaped like animals. I loved it; I guess I am easily impressed!

The pictures below are at our next stop Honduras. We had quite the adventure there. We started the day by renting scooters and driving up the coast. We stopped frequently to take pictures of the beautiful beaches and somewhere along the way lost our licenses, room cards for the cruise ship, cash, and credit cards. We still don't know what could have happened to the stuff but are lucky they let us on the ship with almost no problems. Besides that we had a great time on Honduras.

In Belize we went cave tubing for a couple of hours which was nice and relaxing. We saw plenty of fruit bats in the caves, and some really awesome jungles. All of the people in Belize were very friendly and welcoming and the scenery was unreal! Everything was so green and beautiful we didn't want to leave!
Key West was our last stop and am surprised how much fun it was! I have never been a big fan of Florida but Key West was awesome. It was cute and had some of the prettiest buildings. We walked around ate some Key Lime pie. We took a boat to the live coral to do some more snorkeling. The weather was overcast and the water was rough that day so it was hard for me to enjoy being out in the middle of the ocean but there was plenty to see. There were nurse sharks, barracudas, fish, and more stingrays. I am pretty freaked out by at least half of those that I just listed so I was happy to get back on the boat where I was safe!

Overall the cruise was amazing. I feel so blessed that I had the opportunity to experience it and to see so many beautiful islands and cultures. I am so glad we also had such great friends to share the experience with. I can't believe Clayton & I have been married for 2 year. Time goes by so fast when you are having so much fun. I will post more pictures later when I get them.

Ragnar 2009

This year Clayton joined the ZipFizz team in running the 2009 Ragnar relay! I am so proud of him for doing it, I think everyone on the team is so amazing! They ran 202 miles between the twelve of them with no sleep! I babysat while everyone was running and waited anxiously as the team crossed the finish line. Congrats ZipFizz team! More pictures to come.

Crème brûlée

This was my first attempt at creme brulee and I have to say it was great! I was so excited to try baking something new and have it turn out so delicious. I made this dessert on Valentine's Day and was so surprised how easy it was to make. We went out to dinner with Matt & Celeste in Scottsdale and then had homemade dessert after. It was so much fun.

What we've been up to..

I have really been terrible at updating the blog so let me write quickly and try to catch up. We have had a lot of birthdays this winter and tons of family time with each other. I love it! There is nothing I would rather do than sit and hang out with our families. I really do feel like Clayton & I are blessed to have such great families to be around. All in all, 2009 has been a great year so far!

Happy Birthday MOM!

Today is my sweet mom's birthday! For anybody that doesn't know her, you are seriously missing out. She is the most kind person I have ever known. She is so willing to help her children with anything they need. Thank you mom for always being there for all of us. Whether it is painting our houses, making us bread, watching your grandchildren, helping us with our projects, planning all of our weddings, or just always loving us, you are always so good at it. Thank you a millions times! You are the best mom! I love you! xoxo
