Last week I had an amazing opportunity to go to the Dominican Republic. We went went the Smiles for Life group to do charity dental work. Day 1 of our trip was spent in Santo Domingo getting settled. The next day we started our first day of work. We sent up tables and chairs in a preschool and had a crowd of people waiting to be seen. We saw as many as we could but it still broke our hearts as we packed up knowing there were so many more who needed to be seen. The next day we were able to attend church and visit the temple grounds before our 3 hour bus ride to another part of the island. We were able to work for the next couple days and also serve by painting homes of a wonderful lady in the community. The experience was something I will never forget. I have come home with more appreciation for my family, my belongings and our technology. It was a wonderful place with wonderful people, I hope to go back someday and help more.
